Speaker: Steven Malnight, Duquesne Light Company’s new President and CEO
Malnight is a leader in the transmission and distribution of electric energy to more than half a million customers in southwestern Pennsylvania, including downtown Pittsburgh. Prior to joining Duquesne Light, Malnight was Senior Vice President, Energy Supply and Policy for Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. In his most recent role, Malnight oversaw the development and implementation of PG&E’s energy strategy and policy at the national, state and local levels. He was responsible for the energy supply business, including generation and procurement, corporate sustainability and clean energy initiatives, external affairs, customer care, and information technology. Topic: Malnight will discuss Duquesne Light Company’s work on electrifying the transportation sector in our region, and the evolving needs of the electric grid to support e-mobility and other distributed resource deployment. These resources offer tremendous sustainability benefits, but will require integration of new technologies to ensure reliability for the future.
