Students, faculty, and alumni are invited to join the Department of Chemical Engineering for the first annual John L. Anderson Distinguished Lecture, given by Richard C. Alkire, the Charles and Dorothy Prizer Chair Emeritus Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Alkire was Anderson’s Ph.D. mentor at University of Illinois.

The lecture series is named to honor the accomplishments of former Carnegie Mellon University Professor of Chemical Engineering and Dean of the College of Engineering John L. Anderson. Anderson, who is currently nominated for president of the National Academy of Engineering, has made an impressive impact on the field of engineering, both through his research and his many roles in academic leadership around the country. This distinguished lecture series will be held annually in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and will bring celebrated and influential chemical engineering researchers to campus.
