Are you interested in an M.S. degree in engineering? What about a Ph.D. in engineering? Would you like tips for creating a great application and securing funding? Then the GEM Grad Lab is for you!

GEM is excited to announce the Fall 2018 Regional GEM Getting Ready for Advanced Degrees (GRAD) Laboratory co-hosted by Carnegie Mellon University and University of Pittsburgh on Saturday, September 29, 2018. If you are remotely interested in going to graduate school to obtain your Master's or Ph.D. degree in a STEM field, this is a FREE event you do not want to miss.

Attendees are expected to arrive on time and stay for the entire duration.

  • GEM Program Consultant Moderator: Panel of Graduate Admission staff from host/cohost institutions

12:45 p.m. Session 3: How to Fund Graduate School

  • GEM Program Consultant Moderator: Panel of Graduate Fellowship and Financial Aid staff from host/cohost institutions

1:30 p.m. Break

1:45 p.m. Session 4: Voices from the Field

  • A panel of three- four charismatic young successful professionals and/or current STEM graduate students, who hold, or are currently pursuing, a graduate degree in STEM. Prefer panelists who are GEM Fellows/Alumni, however this is not required.  Panel must be diverse, i.e. ethnically, gender, degree level (i.e. Ph.D. /MS) and professional sector (corporate/laboratory/academy).
