Bias Buster Session

October 03, 2019

2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. ET

Singleton Room, Roberts Hall

Description

Implicit (unconscious) bias is believed to be a contributing factor that has stalled efforts at increasing diversity in academic institutions. This session will present some current understanding of what these biases are, and how we can reduce their impacts in our processes and interactions with others. There will also be role-playing activities to give you practice at identifying and responding to unconscious bias in day to day activities.

The sessions are organized by the CIT Center for Faculty Success (CFS) Plaidvocates program

Pre-session Resources

Before the session, please watch the Google Ventures Video and then take one of the Implicit Association tests.
