Shawn K. Kelly is an electrical/biomedical engineer, a senior systems scientist at the Engineering Research Accelerator at Carnegie Mellon, and a research biomedical engineer with the Department of Veterans Affairs. He is developing a retinal prosthesis for the blind and other implantable neurostimulation medical devices.

He received an S.B., M.Eng., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1996, 1998, and 2003, respectively. He joined the Boston Retinal Implant Project in 1996, and designs circuits for stimulation, wireless power, and data telemetry.
