Pradeep Khosla, Dean of the College of EngineeringEvent: Carnegie Mellon University's Pradeep K. Khosla and Andy Gellman will join U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu and a handful of government and academic leaders to tour ongoing energy research at the National Energy Technology Labs (NETL) in West Virginia.

 

Khosla, the Dowd University Professor and dean of Carnegie Mellon's top-ranked engineering college, has been instrumental in supporting energy research throughout the university and the college.

 

Andrew Gellman, Department Head of Chemical EngineeringGellman, head of the Chemical Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon, is research director of a university consortium with researchers from Carnegie Mellon, the University of Pittsburgh, Penn State University, West Virginia University and Virginia Tech. The consortium is spearheaded by the NETL to design more efficient uses of fossil fuels.

 

In addition to lab tours, the Carnegie Mellon faculty also will attend a roundtable luncheon where a variety of energy issues will be discussed.
