As part of that commitment to sustainability, Rogers will discuss the development of Duke Energy's save-a-watt and "smart grid" initiatives that will someday enable electric customers to be rewarded for conserving energy and sell power they generate from home solar and storage units back to the power grid. He will also discuss how the Charlotte, N.C.-based Duke Energy is working to modernize and decarbonize its power generation fleet in anticipation of a carbon-constrained economy and world.
The lecture series is hosted by the Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research and supported by Carnegie Mellon's Office of the Vice Provost for Education and Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure Inc.
