Media Advisory: Carnegie Mellon Students Celebrate Engineering Week By Showcasing Innovative Class Projects To Virginia High School Students

The projects, part of a senior capstone design project in mechanical engineering, are designed to help students of all ages identify critical engineering components and concepts. Last year, 17 Thomas Jefferson High School Students enrolled at Carnegie Mellon with the bulk of them signing up for science, technical and engineering programs, according to university admissions.
The trip is part of the college's involvement with National Engineers Week established in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers to help ensure a diverse, and well-educated engineering workforce.
