EVENT: Carnegie Mellon University’s Distinguished Lecture Series In Environmental Science, Technology and Policy will host Paul O’Neill, former secretary of the U.S. treasury and retired chief executive officer of Alcoa, and John G. Craig Jr., former editor of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, to discuss the importance of data collection in developing public policy.
O’Neill and Craig are members of the Pittsburgh Regional Indicators, which supports a web site (www.pittsburghtoday.org) featuring a variety of key economic, political and social indicators for the Pittsburgh region that compare our region to other areas of the country. Cliff Davidson, Carnegie Mellon professor of civil and environmental engineering, will moderate the panel, which is sponsored by Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure Inc. and the Steinbrenner Institute for Environmental Education and Research at Carnegie Mellon.
