Computing@Carnegie Mellon (C@CM) falls under the course numbers 99-101, 99-102, or 99-103.

C@CM is a 3-unit class required for ALL incoming undergraduate students. The course is comprised of mostly Carnegie Mellon specific information and helps students understand what resources are available to them and what responsibilities they have as a user in our computing community.

There is very little work required outside of class, so students are expected to attend all classes. The course is mandatory and there is no test out option. It is offered during the fall and spring semesters and required to be completed only once. It is strongly recommended that you take CSW in the fall semester, as the course has limited openings in spring.

99-101 are usually M/W sections
99-102 are usually T/R sections
99-103, MAC sections

This mini-course is listed under the department of “Carnegie Mellon University-Wide Studies.”

You can tell when a mini course is offered by the number associated with the letter (example: 99-101 B2). The number corresponds to the quarter in which the course is offered as such:

1= Fall first half
2= Fall second half
3= Spring first half
4= Spring second half
