Step 4: Advanced Placement and Transfer Credit

all the links you need

The CIT Dean’s Office will post AP, IB, A level, and transfer credit to students' records from June through August. You can see the credit you were awarded by checking your Student Information Online (SIO). On the "Grades" page of this site you will see a drop-box. Select "AP" from the drop-box to see what credit you have been awarded.

This information will help you decide what courses to consider for the fall semester. For example, if you have credit for 33-106, Physics I for Engineers, you won't need to take it. For suggestions, use the first-year checklist or e-mail your First-Year Advisor for additional course suggestions.

Read the detailed instructions on how to view credits made to your record. If you feel credits are missing from your SIO, email the Dean's Office, but please remember that credits are being posted through the end of August.

Click on the links below to see detailed information related to advanced placement credits.

Transfer Credits

We will consider transfer credits from other universities and colleges. However, not all credits are transferable. CIT is one of the top 10 engineering schools in the country, so our standards are very high, particularly for engineering, math, and science classes. See the process for applying for transfer credits. Use the following links to review the guidelines for specific subjects.
