Step 1: Login and ID

ALL THE LINKS YOU NEED

The first thing you should do to get acclimated is to set up your email. EVERYONE uses e-mail at Carnegie Mellon; it is the primary means of communication.

Your login or Andrew ID, named after Andrew Carnegie, will be the basis of your email address. Everyone's email address is their Andrew ID plus "@andrew.cmu.edu." So for example if your Andrew ID is "acarnegie" then your email address is "acarnegie@andrew.cmu.edu."

First:
To find your Andrew ID, go to the Carnegie Mellon Directory and type in your name. Your Andrew ID should be displayed. If you cannot find your Andrew ID, contact The Hub.

Second:
Once you know your Andrew ID, which you will also use as your login name for Carnegie Mellon sites like OnLine Registration (OLR), you will need your password.

To complete the password process, you will need to provide the Admission ID that you used through the enrollment process. If you don't have this, contact the Admissions Office at 412-268-2082. This information, because it is confidential, will need to be sent to you through the through the mail and will not be available through e-mail.

To set your password, visit the Andrew Account Set-up Page and follow the on-screen instructions. In order to protect your information, you will be prompted to create a secure, personal password. To learn more about your password and computer security, go to Managing Your Andrew Account Password.  Additional instructions and helpful information can be found at the Computing Services web site.

Third:
Check your email! Go to My Andrew and look under "Email Options." Select "Andrew Webmail."

Four:

Join the official CIT Class of 2012 Facebook group. Group name: Carnegie Melon CIT Class of 2012.

Once completed, you are ready for Step Two: Placement Tests.
