restricted technical electives align to engineering courses

all the links you need

A science or computer science course from a restricted list of courses is closely linked to each Introductory Engineering Elective. These Restricted Technical Electives provide information connected to a specific engineering course and relates that course to basic scientific principles. By pairing these science and engineering courses in the curriculum, you will make clearer connections among the courses you take and therefore develop greater technical skills.

You MUST register for the Restricted Technical Elective that is the co-requisite for the Introductory Engineering Elective that you choose. In other words, you must take the assigned Restricted Technical Elective before or while taking the Introductory Engineering Elective.

If you register for this:

06-100 Introduction to Chemical Engineering (CE)

09-105 Modern Chemistry I

12-101 Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE)

33-106 Physics for Engineering Students I

18-100 Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE)

15-100 Intro/Intermediate Programming OR
15-111 Interm./Advanced Programming

19-101 Introduction to Engineering and Public Policy (EPP)

33-106 Physics for Engineering Students I

24-101 Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering (ME)

33-106 Physics for Engineering Students I

27-100 Materials in Engineering (MSE)

33-106 Physics for Engineering Students I

42-101 Introduction to Biomedical Engineering (BME)

03-121 Modern Biology

NOTE: All engineering students must complete 33-106 in the first year.  So if you choose to take 06-100 (with 09-105) during one semester and 18-100 (with 15-100 or 15-111), then you must take 33-106 in place of a General Education requirement in one of these two semesters of the first year and take the General Education course at some later time.

If you receive AP credit for any of the Restricted Technical Electives, you may select an alternate course from the options your advisor can provide or by reviewing the Undergraduate Catalog.
