considering a minor or double major?

all the links you need

CIT students are NOT required to enroll in a double major or minor. These additional programs have both advantages and disadvantages. As you can imagine, by doing a double major or minor in another field, you can further enhance your educational depth in a particular area. Certain combinations can be quite complementary and fruitful, such as Engineering and Business.

Choosing an additional major or a minor can also limit your options in terms of gaining more breadth and diversity in your education. You can gain a great deal by exploring a variety of interests by taking courses in all sorts of different areas. Doing so also can help you learn volumes about yourself as well as acquire a varied set of learning tools.

Think carefully about additional programs and whether or not they are the right option for you.  You can sign up for a minor or double major, after you have selected your primary major, in the middle of your second semester.

How to Register for Double Majors or Minors
Contact the department of the minor or major you are considering to learn their registration process. Each department may differ in how you sign up for the minor/double major. Keep in mind, they can’t be added to your record until AFTER your primary major is added to your record, which usually occurs during your spring semester of your first year. You are encouraged to explore all that is offered during your first year.

Tracking
Be sure to meet with the minor advisor to review requirement questions/tracking. You can use the Academic Audit tool to help you keep track of outstanding requirements. This is especially important in later semesters to make sure you have completed all the requirements for graduation
