Four Key Areas in the program

There are four elements of the one-year Engineering and Technology Innovation Management MS Program:

1. Required Core Courses
   a. Managerial and Engineering Economics (12 units)
   b. The Strategy and Management of Technological        Innovation (12 units)
   c. Product/Process Innovation Requirement (12 units)
   d. Seminars on Innovation Management in Practice
      (3 units each semester)

 

2. Electives in Engineering and Technology (24 to 36 units)
According to Student's area of Technical interest

3. Electives in Technology Management (24 to 36 units) Technology Management Electives address: Entrepreneurship; Industrial R&D; Science, Technology and Innovation Policy; Global Business; and Managing Innovation in Organizations.


4. Summer Internship Project

(For local students, a two year, part-time option is available. Please contact E&TIM for more details. )

 

One-year, Full-time Program Structure

The structure for E&TIM includes four courses plus a seminar each semester, as well as the integral Summer Internship:

Academic Block 1 (Spring Term):
Managerial and Engineering Economics
The Strategy and Management of Technological Innovation
One Technology Management elective
- One Graduate Engineering elective
- Introductory Seminar on Innovation Management in Practice
- A Summer Internship Project for Hands-on Experience

Summer Internship Project

Academic Block 2 (Fall Term):
- Seminar on Lessons from Internship Project
- Product or Process Innovation Project
- One or Two Technology Management Electives
- One or Two Graduate Engineering Electives in the Student   Technical Focus Area

The tailoring of the program to individual student interests occurs through the choice of Graduate Engineering Electives and Technology Management Electives.


The ETIM program offers accelerated MS degree, blending business courses with technical electives while providing strong academic support
