Should I be interested in E&TIM?

Yes, if. . .

You are an engineer or scientist concerned with the creation of economic and social value through innovation.

How is my E&TIM course of study designed?

1.) The core courses are the starting point: Managerial and Engineering Economics; Strategy and Management of Technology, a Product/Process Innovation project, and seminars with innovation management practitioners and thought leaders.

2.) Technical interests drive a second component. Carnegie Mellon offers world-class graduate courses to take your technical education to the next level. Technical courses may be concentrated in a single engineering department, or selected across departments to create a unique technical focus.

3.) Innovation management electives emphasize different facets of innovation management. Select from courses in: Industrial R&D and Entrepreneurship; International Business and Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy; and Innovating in the Context of an Organization.

4.) The summer internship project provides a real world experience in an organization that is leveraging engineering and technology to create value.

What is the 2010 tuition for the E&TIM MS degree program?

Tuition for the one-year MS program in Engineering and Technology Innovation Management is $44,000 for 2010. The full-time program begins during the spring term, includes a summer internship, and concludes at the end of fall term during the same calendar year. In addition to tuition, students also need to cover costs for off-campus room and board, insurance, transportation, books and supplies, and miscellaneous expenses.

Partial scholarships/assistantships are available on a
competitive basis.

How do I apply to the E&TIM program?

See the How to Apply page.

What is the E&TIM Dual Degree option?

E&TIM students may apply for dual degrees with traditional engineering programs at Carnegie Mellon University. In this case, a fall semester start and a lengthened program schedule may be required.
