Magnetic Thin Films for Sensor Applications in Extraterrestrial Exploration

This effort will contribute developing magnetic thin films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy required for sensor operation for sensors to be used in the measurement of the magnetic response of titanomagnetite minerals on Mars. It will continue modeling efforts aimed at identifying T-dependent easy directions of magnetization for CoCrPt materials used in the thin film sensors.
